Arrive at Yogyakarta International Airport, where our friendly driver will greet you. Our driver will bring a sign with your name on it at the arrival gate. Proceed to the iconic Borobudur Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enter Borobudur Temple, our driver will help you at the entrance with everything required until you are prepared for the Borobudur Tour. Join a small group on a Guided Tour at Borobudur. Follow your Tour Guide and climb to the top of the temple structure. After Borobudur Tour, proceed to Yogyakarta city. Hotel drop-off. Check in.
DAY 2
JOMBLANG CAVE – TIMANG BEACH – PENGGER PINE FOREST
After breakfast at the hotel, meet at hotel lobby, proceed to remote location of Gunung Kidul area. Start your trip with visiting Jomblang cave, the one-of-a-kind cave in Yogyakarta. It is a massive vertical cave with 60m diameter. You will be rappelling down 40m deep with rope. All the activities will be managed by professional instructors, all safety equipment provided. Once you arrived inside the cave, follow the instructors going deeper into the cave, walk in a muddy surface. It will lead you to the main part of the cave where you can spot the “heavenly ray” coming inside the cave from a big hole. After Jomblang, we go to Timang Beach, Yogyakarta’s stunning coastline, beckons adventure-seekers and nature lovers. It will be about 1 hour drive from Jomblang cave. Once you arrived at the Timang area, you will use a jeep as a shuttle to go to the beach, enjoy the semi off-road bumpy ride as the jeep takes you there. On the beach you can cross to a rocky island in the middle of the sea. You can choose whether you will use the iconic wooden gondola or an unique wooden bridge. On the afternoon, visit Pengger Pine forest for a breathtaking natural vibe where nature’s splendor awaits. Elevate your experience at Pengger Pine forest, offering panoramic views of Yogyakarta’s stunning landscape. Next, return to Yogyakarta city for hotel drop-off.
DAY 3
Mt. MERAPI BY JEEP – PRAMBANAN TEMPLE – SEWU TEMPLE – IJO TEMPLE SUNSET
After breakfast at the hotel, meet at hotel lobby, proceed to Mount Merapi. Experience the safari excursion at the mountain’s base in an open-roof Jeep. Relish the beautiful landscape of Merapi as your Jeep driver navigates to the viewpoint for a close-up view of Mt Merapi, reaching as near as the Jeep can travel. Gather additional information from the Jeep driver regarding the last significant eruption of Merapi at the small museum. Finish the safari tour as your Jeep driver will guide you to a lava river where the Jeep can navigate, allowing for an exciting off-road adventure. Savor the journey on the river as you may get splashed by the water. Proceed to the next site, the biggest Hindu Temple complex in Indonesia, Prambanan Temple. Constructed during the same period as Borobudur but from a different dynasty, this temple serves as evidence of the tolerance of Javanese people from ancient times to the present. Discover additional information about Hinduism, particularly in Java, from the Tour Guide at Prambanan Temple. Follow your Tour Guide as he leads you into every structure of the Prambanan Temple. Following the Guided Tour, you have the option to spend additional time on your own if you wish to linger longer or further explore independently while capturing more photos of the temple. After Prambanan, our driver will take you to Ijo Temple, located 400m above sea level, witness the beautiful sunset from this viewpoint. Back to the city, Hotel drop off.
DAY 4
SULTAN PALACE – WATER CASTLE – KOTAGEDE SILVERSMITH – MALIOBORO STREET
After breakfast at the hotel, meet at hotel lobby, proceed to Yogyakarta Sultan Palace, known as Keraton, a majestic cultural icon nestled in Yogyakarta. This 18th-century royal complex embodies the essence of Javanese architecture, blending traditional Hindu and Islamic influences. Elegant pavilions, ornate gateways, and serene courtyards adorn the palace as the official residence of the Sultan. Next, Water Castle, known as Taman Sari, a royal recreational retreat and meditation site for Sultan Hamengkubuwono I, this historic site blends Islamic, Hindu and Javanese influences. Elegant arches, intricate stone carvings, ornamental fountains and majestic water gardens create a serene atmosphere. Proceed to Kotagede and visit Silver making and silversmith gallery. On the afternoon, explore the most iconic street in Yogyakarta, Malioboro street. This vibrant thoroughfare is lined with historic buildings, quaint shops, and bustling street vendors selling traditional batik, handicrafts and local delicacies. Enjoy the rest of the time for shopping, hunting for authentic Batik or get some souvenirs from Yogyakarta. Hotel drop off.
